FIFA 22 Rules

The rules below will apply to the majority of FIFA 22 competitions offered by Esports Live, any exceptions to these rules will be advised to all players that participate in specific competitions.

1.Esports Live Player Levels Definitions

  • Juniors - All players aged under 16 (born in 2004 or later)

  • Open - Any play can enter

    Some competitions may offer levels based on player experience/ability

  • Amateur - inexperienced, playing for fun

  • World Class - experienced player, competitive, can boss the midfield

    Please note not all competitions will be available for all tournaments

2. Competition Formats

2.1. Community Tournaments

  • The competition may be divided into multiple categories, according to player skill level. Players are required to register to their appropriate category level

  • A player can only register for one category per tournament (this may vary depending on registration numbers)

  • Playstation and Xbox categories may be offered (inc current and next gen consoles)

  • A minimum of 5 players is required for a category to run (this is subject to change by the tournament administrator)

  • The competition format is generally announced during the registration process however is subject to change depending on registration numbers. Some competitions may involve group matches followed by knockout finals while others may involved a first past the post system where the winners are those at the top of the ladder at the announced deadline.

  • Final placing of players after pool games is decided by applying the following:

    • Most points

    • Best Goal Difference

    • Most Goals For

    • Least Goals Against

    • Points head to head

  • If all of the above is equal, then the following will occur:

    • A penalty shoot-out will be used to decide the placings.

2.2. Cups

  • Teams will be randomly drawn to play against each other - no seeding offered

  • A player can only register for one place in the selected cup

  • There may be Playstation and Xbox categories offered

3. Fixtures

  • Esports Live will publish the fixtures and also the list of games for all events on our website a few hours after the close of registrations.

    1. Each player will be sent an email to access their individual portal with a list of their games and opponents

    2. All games will need to be scheduled by the home team. Players will have to communicate with each other via the console online platform using their PSN/Xbox Live ID to arrange a mutually suitable time to play the game. Both players are responsible to make contact, not just the home team.

    3. The “home team” will be responsible for updating the portal with the mutually agreed game date and time

    4. The “home team” will be responsible for updating the portal with the game result and upload a screenshot showing the end-result using the “UPLOAD REPORT” button

    5. In Esports Live tournaments, group games need to be played by the deadline advised when fixtures are distributed. Any games that do not have results entered will be set to 0-0 draws, unless:

      • The failure to complete the match is not the fault of one competitor in which case a forfeit will be entered for the other team; or

      • The failure to complete the match is deemed not to be the fault of either competitor, at the discretion of Esports Live staff, in which case an extension of time may be allowed in order to complete the match.

4. Match Settings

4.1 Applies to Community Tournaments.

  • Game mode: Online Friendly

  • Half length: 6 minutes

  • Controls: Any

  • Game Speed: Normal

  • Squad Type: 90 Overall

  • Injuries: On

  • Offside: On

  • Handball: Off

  • In the event of a draw:

    • Group Games: End in draw

    • Finals: Teams rematch and the first goal to be scored will be deemed as the Golden Goal

  • Players can chose any club or country for any of their games, please remember to select the Squad Type to 90 Overall as stated above

  • The result of any games that are not played under the conditions above will be deemed ineligible

4.2. Applies to FUT Cup.

  • Game mode: Classic Match

  • In the event of a draw over 2 legs; Teams rematch for the 3rd time and the first goal to be scored will be deemed as the Golden Goal

  • The result of any games that are not played under the conditions above will be deemed ineligible

5. Prizes

  • Prizes are outlined to players during the registration process and may be subject to change. Prizes are generally in the form of in-game currency or gift cards but may also include cash or sponsor prizes.

  • Where there are multiple categories for a console, higher value prizes are generally awarded in the highest level competitions.
